It became one of the biggest scandals of the 23rd century. The (total) 90 000 workers who transported the dead were, after unloading the barges, killed themselves by several carefully placed agents of the World Government who also shot themselves to keep the disease from Australian shores. Australia had become the temporary home for the remaining population of the world. Africa put out a law for only one child per family in the year 2095 to help decrease over-population and so it did not take up much of Australia. Europe had taken the hint and so began a similar law in 2147 but to little effect as they had instated two children per family. Their population decreased slightly after the Nuclear War as France, Portugal, Czech Republic, Belgium and Turkey were allies of the USA . Other than that, Europe’s population had remained steadily the same.
