A Game of Quotations

Gabriel shook his head and muttered, “Some people never learn. I guess, as they say, you can see the stars and still not see the light.”

Turning with casual grin, “Beautifully put, Gabriel. Is that a musical reference?”

“Might be,” Gabriel admitted with a shrug.

Completely ignoring the approaching crowd, Nim’r continued, “Well bravo, cause you’ve got me stumped this time. Classic rock?”

“Are there any other options for well penned quotes?”

“Guys,” Kestra cut in hotly, “Is this really the time for your little game?”

“I didn’t know it was a game. Did you, Gabriel?”

“No, but I suppose she has a point, Nim’r.”

“About it being a game?”

“Maybe, but I was more referring to the timing, you know, of the game, if it were a game, which I’m not conceding.”

“Gabriel!” Kestra chided with a stamp of her foot, “I am not above slapping you.”

Both men laughed the laugh of men hardened to battle, and Nim’r said lightly, “You both best be off then. Bring some cavalry if you can, before Gideon wrecks the place.”
