When I walked away,
It was like I ended it all,
But that was yesterday.
And if I ever see you,
This is what I’ll say.

I was miles away, so far away,
I’d wake up in the morning,
Just another distant day.
And all I really wanted,
Was to forget
‘Cus with you gone,
I’d have nothing to regret.

I wished there would be someone,
To lift me off my feet.
Someone that wouldn’t let me sit
In the conversation starter seat.
Someone that won’t ditch me for his stupid friends,
And would help my broken heart mend.

I was miles away, so far away,

So then I met this guy,
Perfect and wonderful on every way.
Who showed me how to say good bye,
And let your memory die.

Just another perfect day.
And I got what I wanted,
‘Cus I did forget,
And with you gone,
I’ve got nothing to regret.

    Wow. Wow, wow, wow, that’s all I can say. This is beautiful. It flows so well…And all I really wanted/Was for me to forget/’Cause with your memory gone/I’d have nothing to regret. So, so poetic, and so bittersweet. This should be a song. In fact, I’m very jealous. I try to write songs and they never sound quite right.

    aparently im not the only one who thought this was a song.. For some reason it remineded me of a Vanessa Carilton song..
    Now, that is what I call poetry. If only mine had your grace and stability. Job well done!
