In a circle of friends we sit.
Like there are no secrets.
We think we know everything.
But on the inside we have no idea.
We walk home, as she walks through the door.
The lights go dim. You stay behind.
You sit there for minutes.
Hearing as they fight in the inside.
But on the outside they seem so happy.
Few minutes pass and there she is.
She’s running to the porch steps.
In seconds, her hands cover her face.
She believes no one is watching.
But she hopes they were.
You walk as slow as you have ever walked.
Her head rises
As tears fall from her face
You sit.
She leans in.
While we walk home.
