Ugh, gutter ball. Pete managed to hide his laugh and his blush.
Pete: Guess that didn’t work.
Stef: Um no you were great.
Pete: Yes, because gutter balls are soo amazing.
Stef laughed, turning to face him. His face was flushed so he was enjoying himself. But as her eyes scanned down to the floor, she saw. Oh no. I’m looking there she thought. Pete broke the silence.
Pete: Want a do-over?
Stef: Yes.
She laughed freely, like she hadn’t seen, and strolled past him to get another ball.
Pete: You were right.
Stef: About?
Pete: You aren’t gonna kick my ass.
Stef: Oh shut up.
But she smiled as she tried to look serious. Pete pulled her close suddenly and kissed her lips. Then he realized it was the 1st date.
Pete: Um, sorry.
Yes! Um no more!
Stef: It’s ok really. In fact, it was…interesting. Could you maybe um show me again?
Pete: Sure but you have to try and do it right.
Stef: Trust me, this is one thing I can surely kick ass in.
And she stepped forward, putting her lips to his.
