Blackout

He looked so upset, so tired, so… old?Like he knew about things he wished he didn’t know.He seemed to have some understanding I didn’t have. I had to lift the mood, somehow.â€?Boy, you musta been desperate.â€?
He laughed a short barking laugh, “Yeah,â€? he got quieter,â€?I musta been.â€?
“Look, Wes, what you did didn’t compare to what Blake did ok? Blake lied to me, he cheated on me, he told me he felt something for me that he didn’t, and he tried to force me to do something I wasn’t ready for.You didn’t do that.Yes, you got drunk, but your actions with Emily were just as much her own as yours,â€?I sighed and sat on a stone bench,â€?Probably more hers.â€?
“That doesn’t make me any less of an idiot.â€?
“Perhaps not, but whatever you do or blame yourself for, do not compare yourself to Blake.Your didn’t come close to doing what he did,â€? I bit my lip, suppressing the memory of that awful night, first Blake, then Andy, then Blake again.I closed my eyes, trying to block out the images.
And then I heard Wes scream my name.
