“I’ve met some folks who say that I’m a dreamer.” I stated.

“I’ve no doubt there’s truth in what they say.” He replied, laughing.

“That doesn’t bother you?”

“Nah. A body’s bound to be a dreamer,” he said. “It just takes some time to find reality, you know?”

“Oh, Danny boy,” I frowned. Things went downhill from there, “what is reality? Sometimes, I feel like I’m walking in the air, swimming in a frozen sky and that seems real enough.”

Danny looked at me. “It’s like you’re spinning between constellations and dreams. But I find myself wanting to spin along.”

I asked him shyly, “Why don’t you?”

“I don’t know anymore. I don’t know much at all. I’m beginning to understand however, that you’re my survival. You’re the inspiration for me. But you’re never here! It’s like you’re lost in a February song, or swooping low over an ocean.”

“Come with me!”

“I only wish I could find a way.”

“Take my hand”, I smiled, “and never let go.“

“I’ll never let you go.“

    great integration of lyrics in your story. very poetic and beautiful. The flow is sweet. Awesome job!

    Not my best ficlet, but it was fun to write. Alright, the songs I used:

    There are two bits whose song titles elude me.

    Cute, romantic little moment for the couple. I caught a little snippet of a Cake song in there, ‘you’re never there.’
