Mystery of the Missing Office

by TreeBeard

Flint walked past his secretary and into his office, quickly closing the door behind him.He stopped and stared. The room was completely empty. The desk, coat stand, and filing cabinet were all gone. Even the hook that had been on the back of the door was missing. He peaked his head out the door at his secretary. “Has anyone been in my office today?” He asked. “No. No one has been here all day except me. Why?” she responded. “Oh. No reason. Did you see any furniture passing by at all?” he said. “Of course not, Mr. Hardcastle. That’s silly.” she said and went back to her work. Flint closed the door again. It had all been here yesterday. If it didn’t go out through the door, then how did it get out of his office? He looked around and noticed one of the windows open. He walked over to it. There was a drain pipe right outside. Maybe his office escaped out the window and down this drainpipe. Flint loosened his tie. He crawled onto the window ledge and grabbed onto the drain pipe, then pulled himself out the window.

Odd little mystery for him to figure out. Not sure what to make of his casual acceptance of ‘escaping furniture’, but it’s amusing.
