Imprisoned By Ignorance

by nesdil

All my life, the only thing I’ve ever known is pain;
the pain of drugs, the pain of love and lies.
No one ever cared enough to just tell me the truth.
They can make their excuses and deny what they’ve done,
but my memories aren’t false and the injuries have been dealt.
But then you came along;
you saved me.

Everything I’ve lived has existed through deception.
I was confused and lost,
without a clue where to turn.
Always in the dark and imprisoned by ignorance,
I learned that my opinions were not to be heard or acknowledged.
My mind had already received the abuse.
But then you came along;
you saved me.

    This is a good example of how pain can reach its end and then change occurs through some who cares. Nice!

    “Everything I’ve lived has existed through deception”. That’s a great line, I love it.

    The poem is great, very touching.
