Where is he? Megan wondered to herself. She was waiting for her boyfriend to meet her at the mall. They had plans to meet here then go to the movies.

Megan pulled out her phone and sent him a text message. She walked around the lobby hoping he had a good excuse.

Fifteen minutes pass without a word or a text response. She was starting to get a little impatient.

Megan calls her friend, to inquire if she had spoken to or had seen her boyfriend.

Her friend was of no help. She had not seen him at school earlier or had spoken to him.

She walks to the food court to get something to eat. She started to think he ditched her. She thought it was time to come up with plan b.

She spots her boyfriend with two other girls at a table.
She walks over and greets her boyfriend.

He stands up and smiles. He pulls her aside and they speak in private.

“Did you get my text mesages? She asked ..
“No” he said

“who are they?”

He gives her a sad look followed by a sigh.

“Megs, its over!”

    You know it is to easy to break up with people now days. Cell Phones are becomming devices of pain. Very Nice.

    A different style, but I thought it fit with the sort of detached unreality one can feel about such painful news. Present tense made it a bit more real, with I think only one slip into past tense.

    Mostly, it was abrupt. Felt like too much of the plot was squeezed into this one space.

    Ha Ha .. yeahh this one kinda sucked.. I didn’t really put forth a good deal of effort. Oh well.. I have written far superior pieces.
