‘Guten morgen.’, I heard the snake say from inside the window in a really bad German accent. “Dragon Lucy, I would like to introduce you to our rabbit helpers, Joe and Cindy.”

The dragon put me down on the rusted platform and turned her head so that her eyes were level with the bunnies on my feet. “Poor little bunnies.”, she cooed..

For some reason I never imagined a dragon could coo. Of course, I never thought I would gain practical experience with one either.

The dragon began eyeing my body. “Would you like me to rid you of this awful growth?”, she asked the bunny slippers.

“No.”, I said, rather frightened as her teeth looked quite sharp.

She looked quickly up at me and was starting to smoke out of her mouth when the snake intervened.

“Isn’t it wonderful what Joe and Cindy have been able to do? As they have had this growth since birth, they have developed a neural network within it which enables them to ‘puppeteer’ the growth. It has saved their lives on many occasions.”, he improvised.
