Bear Minimum Goals

Much to my surprise we hiked in silence all through the night, our hairy friend plodding along behind us, mumbling all the way. At dawn we stopped, and I began to set up camp. My girlfriend, she’s a lovely girl, but she asks a lot of questions.

The questions began, “Did you bring enough food? Why are you putting rocks all around the campsite? You always do that, don’t you? Where is it going?! Okay, why is he laying down there? Did you notice it’s stopped talking? Is that a two-person tent? Are you sure that looks like an eagle beak? Have you camped here before? How did you know it would follow us? Are you even listening to me? Should I start a fire? I’ll start the fire. Here? No, there? Did you bring matches?”

She’s a lovely girl, but honestly I think sometimes she starts a day with a goal as to how many questions she’s going to ask that day. Then she just barrels through the day until she achieves her goal. You have to admire that kind of dedication.

Lovely girl, though, my girlfriend.
