Homecoming

Bryan looked about the inside of the mildew-ridden cottage as his thoughts turned to the years he spent growing up here. As a child this place was his kingdom. He could look outside any window and see his land splayed out in front of him, each tree in the surrounding forest feeling like a citizen of a city that his castle overlooked. But the walls and turrets of his mighty keep of a cottage have, over the years, been laid to waste by a siege of wind and water. Condemned now, the ruins echo with his memories of his rule.
