All Alone [V-Day Challenge]

Walking down the halls, I watch couples hug each other, friends give each other candy.

Hearts. Love. Hugs. Kisses. Joy. Happiness.

I see kids make-out in secluded corners, stopping for a moment to whisper, I love you.

Red. Heartthrob. Infatuation. Sweatheart. True Love.

I hate the stupid holiday and all the people, oblivious to everyone else in their happiness. But, most of all I hate him, the one who left me alone.

It’s because of him that I cry when I should laugh.
It’s because of him that I’m all alone on this day.

It’s all his fault for leaving, without explaining or saying goodbye. He left me with all these questions, that swim around my mind.

You never told me why. You flirted, you called, you hugged, you cared. I would give you an Oscar; you had us all convinced.

But then again, why would I give you anything, when you took my heart and tore it to shreds.

To the only one who ever mattered, the one I thought cared:
Happy Frickin’ Valentine’s Day.
