I hate birthday parties. They are the worst thing in the world.

I could still hear all the little kids screaming and shrieking from the living room. “OH MY GOD SHUT UP !!!” I thought.

Sunlight was pouring in from the window. It would have been pretty, if it had been on another day.

I wasn’t about to leave my room, not to go back out there, anyway. “I hate little kids,”I told myself.

So, I sat there, in a bright yellow frilly shirt, pastel blue shorts, and pink bunny ears on my head. “I hate Easter, too.”

I looked like an idiot.
