Exciting New Places, Interesting New People

As quickly as the ride went nauseating, everything stopped. Everything. For a split second we all froze in place, the world went dark, and something popped.

We found ourselves, campsite intact, deposited in a lovely rolling meadow of pink and blue wildflowers. My girlfriend just stared around cautiously. Kennet smacked his own forehead and left his hand there. Thayen groaned where I’d left him on the ground by the bloody rock. I didn’t feel great about doing that, but they were kidnapping me.

Groden bellowed, “Ah jode, this means no treasure!”

“No treasure?” I started, taking a step toward him, “I ought to bash in all your heads for what you’ve…” But I stopped, struck by the worry on my girlfriend’s face. Everyone has their limits I suppose.

“This, this isn’t Washington, is it?” she asked quietly.

I quickly started gathering some things, “Come on, we’re going away from these three.”

“Three?” she asked, “And the, the bra guy?”

“Brahgus,” I corrected.

“Actually, my name’s Steve,” he corrected.

    Funny you should mention it, Kermit, but I did write a book. Well, two actually. And those three middle-length things I like to call a novella when all combined. Eh, it’s a hobby.

    Oh goodness, no, nothing published. I write them and then sheepishly hide them away from human eyes. I don’t even make family members read this stuff, though a few have. And they still talk to me, which I take as a good sign. You’re too kind, Kermit.

    I am interested to see how Steve develops as a character. Up until now he has been a bit player, albeit a very entertaining one
