Just Looking

Ruri frowned at herself in the mirror. Why couldnt she be perfect? Her stringy wavy hair hung down to a little past her shoulders. She didn’t have the right look, the right clothes. She thought of beautiful Kristina. “I bet her legs never rub together when she walks.” Ruri muttered, slapping her own flabby legs.
We all want to be normal, we all want to be beautiful. But whats normal to us us never normal to them. The fact is, theres no such thing as “normal.” everyone in the world is different, special. yeah, you’ve heard this before. But it really is true.
A girl may look beautiful and perfect, but there are things you cant see just by looking. Maybe they have an alcoholic dad, maybe their parents are divorced. You cant always tell just by looking.

These are pretty good, but you do know the underlying concept of Ficlets is to have other people sequel your stuff, right?

“the wet streets and blaring sirens fading away…”

That’s my favorite line. Good description and very sad premise. I would like to see this continued because I feel the hope for redemption, even if it’s only the opportunity to explain yourself from beyond the grave.
