Color My World

by emma jo_234

Now spread out – the pencils
Now twirl – ruby-red
and color it – for
the sky – instead.

Now peer out – the window
stare into – the world
let imagination – loose
in the day – unfurled.

Color me – softly,
color me, – dear
paint – the universe
in every shade – here.

Now select – a new color
you’ve got many – true,
and scratch in – the grass
in a young shade – of blue.

Color me – softly
color me – light
sketch – a world shifting
through day – and night.

If your pencils – break
I’ll buy you – some new
never lose sight, – dear
‘cause I – love you.

Through your fingers, – sweet,
The pencils, they – twirled,
color, my darling
color my world.
