Lickety Split

“Monkeys make horrible spouses…” A girl with long blonde hair said, while hanging upside down on her bed.

“And you know this why?” Her best friend, a petite red-head asked half-heartedly, clearly used to such behavior.

“Think about it. Monkeys… In a tux… That just about puts me off to the idea alone!”

“Wait—What? Why are you having ideas like that?”

“I’m bored. Ever since they closed down the pool there’s been nothing to do. Don’t you remember Anne? We used to practically live there!”

Anne sighed. “Yes. Of course I remember. I was even gonna lifeguard for extra money this summer. But Mr. I’m-gonna-close-everything-of-value-cause-I-want-more-moolah blew that out of the water didn’t he Lydia?”

“Pft. No need to snap. My poor ears…”

Anne sighed again, as she walked to the window of Lydia’s bedroom, and stared out. “Well, we can’t do anything about the pool now. I’m sure we can find something else to occupy our time.”She spied a bright red moving truck parking right down the street. “I’m sure.”
