The Deal

“You know, that’s an excellent idea, it could be lucrative too, if you play your cards right. Plus, there is space in my office for you to write. We would just have to negotiate the hours so were not in eachothers way.” Thora responded with enthusiasm.

“Hey good idea, and since its freelance, I could write on my own time table, I would just have to abide by my editors deadlines.” Chris said. Chris gave Thora a worried look.
“We are going to be ok in the mean time right?” He inquired. “Yeah if we are careful, my business is doing pretty good.. We have not missed any payments or anything, so we should be alright.
Chris gave Thora an appreciative hug. “Thats eased my mind on so many levels.” He confessed.

Chris walks into the bedroom and shuts the door. He walks over to his night table. He opens the drawer and removes a pouch containing his stash. He had almost forgotten about it. His mind races as he holds it in his hand. He wants nothing more to flush it down the toilet. He knows better.
