It was about midday, and I just walked on. I stopped and found a bench near a bus stop. I sat on it and just let my mind go blank.

I realized that I heard crying near me. I looked over about a block away I saw a girl, about my age, crying into her cell phone.
I looked from her, to the note, and back. Right then I got up and ran to her.
I was feet away now and stopped.
“Why can’t I have someone who listens to me!!” She cried. “You don’t!!”
I stayed silent, and handed her the note.
She read it, and closed her phone.
“Really?” She said.
“Lets get a coffee or something. My Name’s Tom.” I said, holding out a hand.
“My name’s Denise” She said and grabbed my hand and we both walked on into the California sunlight.
Maybe, Denise. Maybe I thought as a smiled crossed my face.
