This must be the new girl, Hayley. Brett was talking about.
Most of the day slipped by easily.
I wish i new what she looked like…
I was walking to my last period class, when I felt a tap on my shoulder.
“Mm?” I said, turning around.
“Hey,” I heard Hayley’s voice. “I never got your name from this morning.”
“It’s Tyler.” I said quietly. “It’s Hayley, right?”
“Yeah.” She said.
“Hey, uh….Thanks for this morning.” I said.
“It’s no problem.” She said. “They’d probably do worse to that blind kid in our class.
“Uh…yeah. you’re right.”
“Well…I’ll see you around.”
“Bye.”
She doesn’t know I’m blind…YES!!
Last period slipped past and I met up with Hayley at the door of the school.
“Hey.” I smiled.
“Hi.” She said.
God, she sounds beautiful. I wish I could see her.
“Whats up?”
“Got a ton of homework.” I said.
“How come you use that typewriter thingy?” She said, pointing to my eletronic braille typerwriter.
“My..uh, handwriting is really crappy.” I lied.
“Oh…No big deal, right?”
“Nah.”

    Great, although any situation like this one I would hope at one point he would say somthing to her about the handicap and not let her find out from someone else. It could go both ways, she could be mad and then embassed for not realizing or catching on. Either way she just might not want to talk to him any more. Great story though!

    Awe, it’s cute how excited Tyler is because she doesn’t know he’s the blind kid.
    ~
    and I’d probably the same way.. not noticing he was blind. I’m sure I’d eventually figure it out, and then feel pretty silly. =)

    I like the idea that Hayley doesn’t know. That way she doesn’t automatically start to protect him before getting to know him. If that makes any sense. haha
