The End of the Bluff

by Louise Madison

“I just don’t know,” I told him.
“Just follow your heart,” he answered.
“Easier said then done,” I responded.
We stopped walking. We were at the end of the street, near the bluff overlooking the ocean. He looked at me with those big green loving eyes. He inched a little closer to me. He grabbed my hands tenderly.
“Choose wisely. Hell, the answer may be right under nose.” he whispered.
“Oh really?”
“Anything’s possible.”
“Very true,”
“I really like you, Olivia.”
“I really like you too, Jaco.”
And I leaned in and kissed him, my best friend Jaco.

Sweet little story, and I liked the slight twist at the end explaining the hesitancy, making that jump from friends to, um, you know, more than friends.
