Dr. Bellini,

I am writing in regards to your request for a peer consultation in the most fascinating case of Mr. L.O. I regret to inform you, however, that there appears to have been a bit of a misunderstanding. You see, my surname is Zoombie, which is Polish and not ghoulish. I’m afraid I will have little particular insight into the case.

However from what you’ve told me it does seem like somewhat of a recapitulation of Erikson’s 5th stage: Identity vs. Role Confusion. The patient seems to be struggling with the basic conflict of individuation from the “wizard” who “raised” him, I believe was how you put it. This is quite similar to how a child must separate himself, emotionally and cognitively from his parents. Provided a zombie can remember events from its natural life, exploring events from the ages of 12 to 18 might be a fruitful area.

    So it’s a side-equal to a side-equal, since mine is already an aside to Melia’s story, probably more than it is to PG2V . I may have to consult you more to keep my psych straight, since most of my knowledge comes from sources like Ordinary People and Frasier…

    My first ficlet of the day and what a wonderful one to wake up to, starting the day with a good chuckle. I particularly enjoyed “Best of luck in your practice and your after life” as if it’s no big deal that this man gets a consultation request from a vampire. And the name misunderstanding – Polish not ghoulish – very funny!
