I don’t think I’ve ever had this much fun grocery shopping in my entire life. It was ridiculous.We made friends with an old lady by accident who gave us advice on which type of chicken to get. She continued to follow us around and insisted on making sure we got the best deals on everything. There was one point when she started to annoy me a little, but Cynthia seemed to be enjoying her company, and soon I realized she was probably just a lonely widow. We helped her take her groceries to her car and said goodbye.
When we got into my car, Cynthia started messing with the radio station when we heard a song we both recognized.
We turned up the radio super loud and sang along.
Her eyes,

That’s where blue skies,
meet the sunrise
I decided to drive to her house instead of stopping at mine, I could call Mom later.
I smiled, watching her sing along. I felt like I’d known her all my life. She saw me watching her and smiled.
