Eve felt majorly better after her visit with Dante. It was amazing how easily Dante could make her feel like maybe, just maybe, there was some good in the world. When she pulled home at home she let out a great sigh of relif and disapointment. Her mother’s car wasn’t home, meaning she was probabaly off drinking again and would call in sick the following morning.

Eve shook her head. She didn’t want to think about where or what her mother was doing. She was just glad she didn’t have to deal with her again.

Eve went inside and got her self a little something to eat. There, on the counter was a note.

Eve. I should be here for you. I am so sorry for leaving you alone all these years. I’m taking steps to improve my life. Things will get better. I promise you that, Eve. I’m at my first AA meeting to stop drinking. Be home soon.

Eve was shocked. Her mom finally seemed to care. She really hoped things got better. Eve went to bed and texted Dante.

thx 4 2day. Guess wat. moms @ an AA meeting.
