Two man sat on their horses on the bluff overlooking the small frontier town. Jonas spat, “Fool’s Paradise.”
Hyrum just chuckled, “Then I’m just the fool for it.” With a kick of his spurs he was off to the dusty Babylon, where bad is bad, and good is a relative concept.
By the time Jonas rode into town, Hyrum had already disappeared into one of a dozen saloons, probably knee deep in any number of cardinal sins. Slowly hitching his horse, Jonas took note of the man on the water tower, the two on the opposite roof, and at least three loitering down the street.
Jonas burst through the doors of the nearest saloon, and there was Hyrum, shirtless with his arms around two women, struggling to get a third involved somehow. He only shrugged, “You know how it is, one thing leads to another.”
“Ya durn fool, we’ve got trouble, and lots of it.” He tossed his friend his shirt, unholstered his six guns, and faced the door. With a wicked grin Jonas looked back, “Hold on tight!“
