Night Drive

by ChrisWDP

I feel the cool breeze of the night air on my arm. As I drive home, with my window down, I notice nothing.

No traffic
No anxiety
No sound

Actually there is something I notice, a few red lights.

It is a different world at night. As I head home the night brings peace and calm. Making it easier for me to fall asleep once I get home.

This has a lulling quality to it that puts me at ease as I read it.
Where you write “the night brings peach,” I think you mean to say “peace.” Are we craving peaches, mayhaps? :p

I agree, it’s almost the quality of a lullaby in its ease. I laugh because I had to go back and find the peach because my mind read what it expected to see.

I quite like the world at night as well. I Love walking around a city at night, I walk round London a lot at night and used to end up wandering around Portsmouth a lot at night. Not in a weird way mind. I think it’s partly because I really like the orangey light the streetlights cast on everything.

Oops, my bad on ‘peach’. I’ve changed it to ‘peace’. Thanks for catching it.
