Qbert hopped all day long. Sometimes he hopped all night too. He was well known for his sudden unreadable outbursts.
”@!#?@!,” he yelled to the glass wall above him. Keep the stupid ball from hitting me on me head, you dolt! ”@!#?@!”
Qbert could see the teenaged boy with his tongue poking at the corner of his mouth concentrating intensely as he manipulated Q’s moves around the pyramid.
Of course, the boy was clueless as to Q’s thoughts. Over the wall went Qbert. He sighed as he climbed back to the top of the pyramid awaiting the drop of the coin.
The screen flickered and this time a girl’s face appeared. Same intense look. Q started down the pyramid, quickly. Wow, she’s fast… BALL ! ”@!#?@!” But not that fast. Idiot! ”@!#?@!”
The girl was laughing. Qbert had all he could take instead of waiting for the girl to make the wrong move, he took a wrong turn and jumped off the wall. The girl slammed a fist down on the screen. “Hey!”
Qbert appeared at the top of the pyramid, smiling.
