I get home from work, where I’ve been yelled at by the boss again. Barely have time to kick off my shoes before all the pets are clamoring for my attention. Buddy wants his walkies, and Fluffy is yowling about her litterbox being full. Even the goldfish seems to be staring at me until I feed it, but I’m sure that’s just my imagination.
Sometimes I think that it would be so much simpler being them. They have it easy, all they ever have to do is sleep and eat, or else just swim around the castle. They don’t have any worries in their simple little minds.
Maybe that’s why I keep them, so I can daydream about life without this rat race. Maybe someday my life will be as simple as theirs.
