Life on The Hinge

And in the midst of the battle how can it be so calm? The reality was terrifying. But the whole scene was in slo mo. Movie like, really. The stairs collapsed and I ducked my head as if it would save me from the flying rubble.

And I thought. Who would bring this destruction to me?

I heard sirens in the distance. Well probably not too far away. Very close perhaps. I had no sense of time nor distance.

My head was whirring five thousand miles an hour. My heart was beating so much faster.I stared at the crumbling ceiling-or lack of it-and screamed:

LOVE IS MORE POWERFUL THAN ANY WEAPON YOU USE TO DESTROY !!!

The screams silenced. The building almost ceased to crumble. Amidst the silence there was one lone shrill scream.

THE BUILDING IS OVER …”
There was a loud crack. The building was over. But were our lives?
