Rachel

by Katherine Lenado

Her name was Rachel. She was a fourteen year-old girl and live in Columbus, Ohio. Well, actually, her parents lived in Columbus, she was at bording school in Swizterland.

Her parents didn’t exaclty spend time with her. I guess they shipped her off to Switzerland so they could spend time together. She told me one day that she wasn’t planned, if you know what I mean. He parents got drunk at this party, and well, it’s pretty obvious what happened later.

She was alone most of the time. Until one day I noticed she looked extremely sad and talked to her for a while. We’ve been friends ever since. She told me that she saw her parents every two years and got an email or letter every three months. I felt really bad for her. She obviously had a rough life. Even though my parents are divorced, I couldn’t imagine going through what she has.

Rachel, you don’t have to hate your parents. unfortunatly we can’t pick and choose who gives birth to us.

If they choose not to be a part of your life other then providing it’s there lost. All you have to do is be the best you can be. No one is perfect and sounds like your parents are far from it. So what you choose to do with your life is up to you. Don’t let them be the reason you don’t be a good person and or make something out of your life.
Good luck….. Keep your head up!

Given that the author is named Katherine, I’m pretty sure it’s a story.
