Mike, Tod, Brett and I were on our way home and we were almost there.
“How many miles?” I asked for seeming like the millionth time.
“About a couple.” I heard Tod’s mom call back.
I shuffled in my seat, anxious. I was going to get dropped straight off at Hayley’s place, just to surprise her.
I said my goodbyes to Tod, Mike, and Brett as I walked into Hayley’s apartment. I didn’t hear her Dad home, so I went up to her room.
I knocked on the door and opened it. I heard an “Mmm.” It wasn’t Hayley’s Dad, it was a male voice.
“Hayley?” I asked.
I heard a noise similar to a plunger being pulled out of water.
“Who the is he?” I heard the same guy’s voice again.
“Who are you?” I asked.
“Guys, I can ex-” Hayley started.
“Hayley!” I said. “What the hell is going on!?”
“Nathan and I-”
“NATHAN!?” I exclaimed. “You mean that asshole ex of yours!?”
“Y-yeah..”
