I saw him.

I couldn’t move, I was so afraid.

But I couldn’t run either.

He kept coming closer, closer, and closer still…

His bright blue eyes, wide open, stared at me.

His hand reached out towards me, like in slow motion.

I watched every single one of his actions in terror, afraid that any sudden move would make the beast come closer.

He crouched in front of me, and put one terrifying white paw on my shoulder.

His giant ears stuck up and blocked any view of my mommy or the sky, or anything! I couldn’t see!

Then he spoke to me, but without making his overly-glad mouth move.

“Would you like an easter egg?”

I did the only thing I could.

“MOMMY!”

    Cute. It reminds me of my little cousin who was terrified the first time she saw the easter bunny at the mall.
    That bunny is kinda scary…. ;-)

    Never can tell what will scare a kid. Course, we went to an Easter parade in Spain when I was really little, and that was a real horror-fest.

    I really love how this story builds up the tension about ‘the terrifying beast’ and then you find out its just the easter bunny.
