“Enough, Zeristal!” Albrecht ordered. The demon stopped laughing, but every time it looked at Jaime, it’s shoulder shook as it chuckled.
“Albrecht!” I said, trying to sound more confident than I felt. “We are here…”
“I know why you are here, boy,” he said, glaring at me. “You are here to try and stop me. I know all about your plans, thanks to your friend, Alex, here.”
“No friend of mine,” grumbled Robert.
Albrecht ignored him. “You know what I plan to do. And you know that I am perfectly capable of, how do you say in your world? ‘Pulling it off’?” He looked at Alex, who nodded.
“You think we’re going to let you get away with it?” I asked.
Albrecht’s turn to laugh. “My boy, you may have created me, but right now, I_ am in control! _I am the one with a demon under my command. I_ am the one with a force of thousands waiting in this keep. _I am the one with the spell to transport this entire keep with whatever world I wish!”
“You,” I told him, “are bound to fail. We’ll stop you.”
He laughed.
