Space Infusion (CLFM 9)

I hadn’t quite expected this. I had a feeling Les was playing with the car again. Not so much that it looked like my Chevy had just driven half way across the galaxy in deep space in a matter of minutes, but that it had now bunched up and gone tubelike so it could drive down this freaking sewer tunnel.

Fortunately we’d stopped about half-way and dropped our bloodied passengers off on a paradise type world, or we’d be squashed so close we’d be literally chewing each other’s ears off.

“This damn contraption of yours is a real death trap, you know,” blondie sniped. Unfortunately I hadn’t been able to get rid of her yet. “Stoppp!”

I slammed on the brake and stopped millimeters from a giant of a man sporting something suspiciously like a weapon. A child popped out from behind him carrying a cannon and fired a ball of flame at us.

Squashed by the compacted car I couldn’t move, the flame was sucked into the metal of the car, blinding us.

The child and man appeared in the back.

Thanks, Les.
