The Good Little Wolf's Uncle Reacts to the News

Huge tears formed in the Big Bad Wolf’s eyes, rolled down his snout, and splashed to the floor.
“Uncle, I’m so sorry,” said his good little nephew. “I love you, but I can’t be like you. Do you still love me?”
“Of course. I’ll always love you, no matter how good you are.” He lifted his nephew in a huge hug. “But your friends will be so disappointed.”
“What do you mean?”
“I promised Betsy and Emma ham sandwiches if they helped you to be bad. Now there’s no point.” The Big Bad Wolf slyly added, “The good thing to do would be to make sure your friends got ham sandwiches. If you let them help you to be bad, they’ll get the sandwiches. So, wouldn’t it be good of you to listen to them and then be bad?”
“Uncle, it’s not good to be bad, so I won’t be,” said his nephew firmly. “But Betsy and Emma…”
“All right, all right… let’s have them for dinner tonight.”
“What do you mean by that?” asked the Good Little Wolf, who knew his big bad uncle rather well.
“I mean we’ll all eat ham sandwiches together.”
And they did.
