She'll Keep the Promise, Right?

I drive home in silence, thinking. Leo, so that’s his name… I pull into my drive,cut the engine and sit there. I smack myself in the forehead. What the hell am I thinking? It’s not like Faith and I are going out or anything! She can go out with Leo if she wants, who’s stopping her?

I decide to go to the lake. I turn the engine on and drive. I lay on the grass beside the lake and think.

This Leo kid isn’t bad, I mean he doesn’t seem bad. Does he?If he’s not, then why do I get so protective of Faith when he’s around? I don’t like like her. Do I? No. To me she’s like family, a close friend. I shake my head.

And besides, even if she does like him and even if they do go out, we promised to never let anyone come between us. She’ll keep that promise. Right?

I lay there thinking for the rest of the day, went home, and fell asleep late.The next morning I pulledon jeans and a green polo, Faith alwas said it looked good with my ear-length brown hair. I get my keys and drive over the pick Faith up.
