We scan the big crowd and have no luck. We decide to go upstairs.

“Where can she be?”, I ask worried, not expecting an answer.

“Hey, Maddie wait a second.”

“What?”

Brian grabs me and brings me close and wraps his arms around my shaking body.

“We’ll find her.”, he whispers.

I lift my head up and look into his eyes. He lowers his head and kisses me. I push him off.

“Why did you do that?”

“I wanted…”

“You shouldn’t of done that.”

“Maddie, it was always there between us.”

“But why now?”, I say opening and closing doors to find Rainey, he follows me.

“Maddie, please I’m sorry, I wasn’t thinking.”

“Oh, my God.”

I thought it was just another door. A door with nothing behind it.
