Present Day History

by Capital "W" Writer (LoA's Geekus Awesomeus)

Why this guy, and why now, I didn’t know. I didn’t care, either. They wanted the job done, and they wanted the best. When someone wants me to switch someone off, I don’t ask questions.

Especially when they double my already impressive fee.

It was a miserable day in Dallas. Cloudy, cold, and rain that came down in sheets. It didn’t matter, though. My weapon had an image enhancement scope that allowed me to ignore any weather. I could take someone out in pea soup fog if I wanted.

I chose this spot because of it’s historical value. Assassinate a historian at a historic site. Who says hitmen don’t have a sense of humour?

As I checked my scope, I saw a crowd standing around. I looked up. Dealey Plaza was empty. I shook my head. Working too hard. I would take a vacation after this.

My target came out of the cafe he always ate at. 12:30p, on the button. I took aim, and again, the phantom crowd appeared in my scope. I ignored it, and fired three shots.

The shots all missed.

And where did my three bullets go?

Well, since no one seems to be catching it:
    Dealey Plaza.
    Dallas, Texas.
    Three shots.
    The hint: John Wilkes Booth.
Instead of killing his intended target, his shots passed through a ripple in time, killing John F. Kennedy.
