We walk out of the lake together and lay on the shore, drying off. Around one I decide I need to go home seeing as I hadn’t been home scince I left for school the previous morning. Reluctantly, Bernard agrees with me.
We both jump into Bernard’s truck. “Take the long way home?” I ask as I lay my head on his shoulder.
“What ever you want, Babe.” He replies as he pulls away from the lake.
I fall asleep on his shoulder as we drive, the sun eating down on us through the windshield.
“Faith..” I hear someone calling.
“Mmm..” I moan as I sit up. I look around me and realize we were home. I stretch and yawn, causing Bernard to yawn as well. “Sorry.” I laugh as I see him yawing.
“It’s ok, they’re contagious ya’know.” He answers smiling at me.
“Yes I knew that.” I say and lean over to kiss him goodbye. After a few minutes I leave and go in the house. The rest of the day passes without much thoughts. Well other then the ones of Bernard, but those are always there. I fall asleep in my bed smiling.
