Day 130

Mother tried to get me to eat chicken. I told her I got a speeding ticket and she, out of sympathy, replied, “Maybe today’s a good day to stop being a vegetarian.”

The worst part of it all was that I actually thought about it briefly before I said no and ordered a tomato soup from the waitress.

However, I wonder if she actually did sympathize or if she was still trying to make things how they used to be.

She must have sensed all the tension from her family at Christmas as well. She must have been embarrassed to have a son not eating what everyone else was eating. But that was three months ago. Why would she try to undo me now?
