An Extraterrestrial View of Earth {Storykeeper's Birthday Challenge}

by Yeah Write!

“Look at all the stars! They look like pretty blue candles in the sky!”
“Yes, but some are not stars at all. See that little circle of light? It is a planet called Earth.”
“Really, mom? You mean there are other places out there just like here? So are there people there just like us?”
“Well, songs and ancient legends suggest that a semi-advanced species called humans inhabit Earth, causing destruction to all that they come in contact with. We’ve attempted to visit them many times, but it has become too dangerous…”
“So, humans are evil?”
“No. They just have inferior brains, I suppose.”
“So do you really think they exist, Mom?”
“I always have. In fact, I bet there are humans looking up at us right now. But one day there may not be. If they continue on their destructive path, there may not be an Earth left at all.”
“Well, maybe it’s my destiny to help them! Maybe I could be the one to save their planet from utter destruction!”
“I hope so, son… for their sake.”

    I love this! Satire wins brownie points with me, and always will. It was like the Lorax in a way. Lovely! I adore.
