I had the worst night last night. Now I have to deal with Sam, my best friend. Wonderful!

“So how’d it go, dude?” Sam said. When I stared at him blankly, he continued. “Don’t you remember?” Another blank stare. “Your meeting with Chloe!”

Oh no! I had totally forgot. Damn it! What was I going to do?

“Dude, I totally forgot! Last night was so rough, and she told me not to be late! Oh no!” I said. “Great, you wanna know whate else I did? I slammed my locker door right in her face!”

“What? Why’d you do that?” Sam screamed.

“I was frustrated, I told you, last night was terrible!”

“What happened last night?” Sam asked.

“Grandpa died, he was in the hospital for a long time and yesterday…” I trailed off.

“Kevin, I am so sorry, I knew how close you two were. You have to tell her, please. She’ll understand.”
