Getaway

While packing for their trip to the Hamptons, Taylor felt woozy and decided to lay down on the bed.

She woke a hour later. Her husband, Adam was still at work, but he would be home early so they could get started on there nuch needed get away.

Ever since Taylor was diagnosed with a brain anerousism, Adam and her best friend Rae hovered over her.

Taylor rubbed her eyes and looked out her window at the skyline.
Her eyes widened. The sky was turning red. It looked like the whole city was on fire. Oh God no, she thought, this can’t be happening.
She closed her eyes tightly, opened them again and the sky was blue.

Taylor went to the kitchen to get a cold glass of water.

Standing in the kitchen was Jon Bon Jovi singing, “You Can’t Go Home.”

Taylor was startled. Jon Bon Jovi seemed oblivious of her presence.
And then she was alone in the kitchen.

A knock on the door and Rae poked her head in, Yoo hoo, Taylor, are you ok Hon”?, she asked.

“I.. I think so.. the strangest thing just happened,” Taylor said.

She is seeing things. Magical or a brain problem?

The aneurysm would certainly point towards a brain problem. I could certainly feel her frustration over having to have people ‘hover over’ her.

Strange that this is my first comment on one of your stories in a long time - but what jumped out at me was the variation in the length of your sentences. The switch from short to long and a paragraph being one sentence made the structure aesthetically (asthetically? I can’t spell) pleasing. The affects of her condition - seeing the skyline with her eyes was a well described invitation to her world.
