The Pitch

by Capital "W" Writer (LoA's Geekus Awesomeus)

Once upon a time, in the land of Fan T’see Naym, there lived a good and beloved king named Olden Feebell.

The king ruled the land well and was loved by his people. He looked forward to the day his son, Prince Yungen Fu-Lish, whom he loved very much, took the throne.

But, unknown to the king, his son had been corrupted by the evil wizard, Aywill Taykyurthrown. The wizard…

“Stop!” the editor blurted out.

“Is something wrong?” the young writer asked.

”’King Old’n Feeble’? ‘Prince Young’n Foolish’? _The wizard ‘I Will Take Your Throne’?!” He sighed, rubbing his temples. “I’m almost afraid to ask. What’s the title?”

“Oh!” the young man perked up. “It’s named after the two main characters. The Adventures of Ayl B’Ritch and Fae Mus!

“Get out!” The editor called his secretary. “Bring me a bottle of asprin, a bottle of vodka, and a gun. All full. I’ll decide which will cure my headache later.”

Having through a pitchfest or two myself, I can imagine how development execs and editors like yours might find option 3 appealing.
