Road Trip!

Relief washes over me. I slump to the floor and my tears spill over. Within a coupe minutes, I feel Bernard scooping me up. He walks me out the door and sets me down inside his truck. Then he hurries to the driver’s side and gets in. I lay my head down on his shouler and fall asleep.

Hours later, I wake up. “Where are we?” I ask, looking out the truck’s windshield and seeing that we are on some highway.

“Georgia right now.” Bernard says, pulling off into a rest station.

“What?! What about your family? Mine? School?” I sputter franticly.

“You need a vacation Faith. I’ve called your parents and mine.They know we’ll be back within the week, and.. I.. told them about your Grandpa..” Bernard says, stopping the car.

I look at him in awe. He is the sweetest thing.. I smile and kiss him lightly. “Thank you so much.” I say.

“Any thing for you.” Bernard answers, kissing me again. We get out of the car and start walking to the bathrooms.

“So.. Where are we headed anyways..?” I ask.

“Florida.”
