Why don't you see me? - Part 2 (Elsha's Mirror Challenge)

by La Luna

Oh if only you would listen! You should have listened to me. You should have. I tried to tell you. I tried to warn you. I tried to show you. If only you had seen me.

That boy. That boy on the bus. The boy in the mirror. He saw me. He saw me good. And his gun saw me too. His gun aimed right at me. Yet you still did not listen. I screamed for you to run, but you just stood there. If only you would have heard me.

I tugged your arm to move. I tugged it over and over again. But you still stood there, scared. He aimed the gun right at me, but you still did not move. If only you would have felt me.

He pulled the trigger. He pulled the trigger aimed at me. I ran. I ran fast, trying to get you to run with me. Yet, you just stood there … stood there as he fired his gun. If only you could have seen me.

Now I watch you, lying there, upon the floor. Laying, covered in blood. I’m crying over you, but you can’t hear me. My hands are on your chest, but you can’t feel me.

I can see you, but you can't see me.

Wrestling with self. Sometimes we do seem to go through the motions of life, not living it, not enjoying it. Sometimes we push part of us to the back of our brains and it screams for attention. I think often it is our creative or adventuresome side. This story, however makes me wonder about which side was showing.
