He Ran

by rkalajian

With that, he ran.

There was no time, no place. Just his feet hitting the asphalt and the sound of his breath.

The things that followed him were no matter. The things they could do to him, no consequence.

The pounding of his heart, and the pounding of his feet became one.

With that, he ran.

I love just how much intrigue you managed to put into this brief ficlet. It’s very well written, nice job!

I hope you don’t mind, but I’m going to sequel this for the “Make Somebody’s Day” challenge. Thanks!

I agree with Music-Hearted. Very well done in such a concise manner. We definitely get the feeling that something has caused him to run, but we don’t know what. It has an almost Run, Lola Run feel to it.

Even without wordy imagery, you’ve created utterly awesome imagery.

I can just imagine him running away, from something, someone…

Nice minimalist ficlet. I could say more, but that seems contrary to the spirit of the ficlet.
