BARomero's Orphanage of Ficlet Series (1)

by BARomero

Never start something you can’t finish. It’s advice I try to live by, but can’t always do. Over the past year, I’ve started a few series that for some reason or other I’ve strayed away from and never completed. They’ve always been open for others to sequel (and maybe complete), but I thought I’d bring them to attention here, to make them easier to find, so maybe someone can adopt them, nurture them, and help them grow and blossom into the stories I know they can be.

Won’t you please give these Ficlets a good home? And if you’ve got your own series you’d like to give others a shot at sequeling why not list them in a sequel to this Ficlet?

4453/44582:00 AM Purgatory Diner – This was supposed to be a mood piece, a sort of neogothic Canterbury Tales type anthology, where odd characters congregate and spin their tales of woe to their waiter. I’ve set up the setting, now I just need stories.

I like the idea of a central ‘orphanage’. It can help lead to new ideas for others. At this time, I have only one to add, but can be great for future entries.

This isn’t a challenge per se, so apologies in advance for sticking a “newchallenge” tag on it. I just wanted to get some traffic here to create visibility for my orphans, as well as to encourage people to sequel this Ficlet with their orphans…

Funny, the whole orphanage analogy for the lost ficlets and series. Bespeaks our emotional attachment to our work, I think.
